Willow had called another Scooby meeting. Dawn was conspicuous again by her absence. Xander said she was ill. Harris had never been good at lying and Spike knew he was hiding something.
Spike frowned. “Easier said than done, Red.” He raised an eyebrow. “Also, restoring the magics is something quite close to your heart. Are sure you’re suggesting this for the right
There was no news from Angel on his regular phone calls from LA. Apparently, he’d caught up with Harm but the vacuous bint informed him she was no longer in touch with that kind of riff raff before she got her security to toss him out on his ear. Spike would have liked to have seen that; actually, he would have paid to see that.
“We have to bring magic back.” Willow had her resolute face on. “It’s the only way! Before Buffy disappeared I was looking into how we could reverse this, I was told we needed to find the remains of the Seed first.” She paused dramatically but both men just looked blank. “I think I know where it is. I think it’s in the Hellmouth.”
“Sunnydale’s a crater, pet.”
Willow rolled her eyes. “I think it’s in one of the Hellmouths.”
“Well that narrows it down,” Xander said.reasons?”
Someone had to say it and he didn’t think Xander was going to.
Willow flushed, “Does it matter? I would do anything to bring Buffy back. I thought you would too.”
“Last time you did anything to save her you ended up pulling her out of heaven,” he pointed out.
“That wasn’t just her,” Xander interrupted. “That was my bad too.”
“Maybe so. Look, I’m not trying to play a blame game here. I just wonder should we really be traipsing around when Buffy is missing.”
“What do you want to do then?” If looks could kill Willow’s gaze would have ended him. “Have you any better ideas?”
Spike’s shoulders slumped. “No, but I can’t help but feel it’s exactly what they want. I’ve a bad feeling about it. I’m not saying don’t do it. I’m sayin’ be careful.”
Buffy tried so hard - for so long- attempting to fight.
Her teeth chattered as she sat on the cold concrete floor. The bed was never replaced and the tatty blankets gave her little warmth. The smell in the cell was getting worse by the day as the chamber pot wasn’t emptied as regularly as it should be and she knew that she badly needed a wash. When she first had been captured she was given a basin of water and a cloth to wash herself at least twice week. She had lost count of the time she had been in this God forsaken place but she knew it was about two weeks since she had been given that privilege. Buffy wasn’t stupid and she knew they were trying to break her; She wasn’t going to satisfy them by obliging them.
A man entered the cell with a plate with a single slice of bread and a plastic cup filled with water.
He crouched down and placed them beside her. She looked up sullenly at him.
“Things would go much easier if you would just cooperate. It’s been weeks, Ms Summers. If your friends were going to find you, you’d think that they would have found you by now.”
He left slamming the door behind him.
“They will come,” she muttered.
